Assessing the feasibility and effectiveness of in vitro diagnostic tests

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Leeds Diagnostics Co-operative

Developing diagnostic tests that improve patients’ lives and add value to the NHS

NIHR Leeds In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative (NIHR Leeds MIC) drives the development, design and validation of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) tests by building expertise and capacity in the NHS.

We do this to meet clinical need, drive cost savings for the NHS, and most importantly, to significantly improve patients’ lives, reducing hospital stays and empowering them to look after their own health.

The NIHR Leeds MIC focusses on new IVDs which may be of benefit to patients and/or the NHS in Oncology, Infection Diagnostics, Musculoskeletal Disease and Renal Medicine

Unrivalled access to world-leading medical diagnostics expertise

We are in a unique position of having clinical trials, health economics, health informatics and multidisciplinary pathology capabilities and expertise in-house, all of which is essential to the development of IVDs. We provide partners with unrivalled access to world-leading medical practitioners, academics, and clinical networks.
