SME Roadshow promotes collaboration

26 June 2018

The National Institute for Health Research joined forces with the Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) to host a roadshow aimed at improving collaboration opportunities for SMEs.

Held in Leeds in June, the event was tailored to medical technology companies interested in learning more about how to work with the NIHR and AHSN.

Talks held during the roadshow outlined the support and guidance available to SMEs from the two organisations and offered information about the funding programmes available for med tech innovators.

Dr Helen Radford, Operational Director of NIHR Leeds MIC, delivered a presentation at the event outlining what the MIC can offer SMEs.

“This excellent event provided a great opportunity for SMEs and other Industry Partners to meet and discuss potential collaboration opportunities and how they can be supported through the NIHR infrastructure”

Delegates also had the opportunity to network with supporting organisations, key NHS stakeholders and other like-minded innovators. A round-table discussion covered topics including how to access funding, how to navigate the NHS and building collaborations.
