International Clinical Trials Day
26 June 2018
NIHR Leeds MIC joined with teams throughout the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to take part in International Clinical Trials Day, held at the end of May.
Organised by the National Institute for Health Research, the day is an opportunity to promote the excellent research studies carried out across the Trust. Teams staged displays featuring demonstrations and information in the Bexley Wing atrium at St James’s University Hospital and at the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility in Jubilee Wing at the Leeds General Infirmary.
The Leeds MIC held a stand alongside colleagues at the Bexley Wing atrium which received a lot of interest from staff members as well as members of the public about IVD research and how this can benefit patients and the NHS.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust recently became the 2nd most successful acute trust for recruiting to high quality research studies in England, recruiting more than 19,000 people into high quality research studies – a reflection of the high-quality work carried out by the Trust.
