Funding for global health research
17 April 2018
The MRC Cancer Research Global Health Workshop was held in London in January. Its aim was to disseminate information about upcoming funding opportunities for global health research across the MRC’s funding streams and also provide an opportunity for researchers of different disciplines to network and identify potential projects for collaboration. A targeted call to pump prime new international partnerships was announced.
Dr Bethany Shinkins, Health Economics Theme Lead at NIHR Leeds MIC, attended the event: “The workshop provided a useful opportunity to network with other researchers working in this field and there were some useful talks describing ongoing and past work in this area. We are keen to explore opportunities to evaluate the impact and value of introducing novel diagnostics in low and middle income countries.”
