AHSN Innovation, Improvement and Impact Conference
17 April 2018
The Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) held its annual Innovation, Improvement & Impact Conference and Awards at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds on January 31, 2018.
Over 170 delegates from NHS organisations, industry and academia attended the event, which provided an opportunity for the AHSN to showcase its work and the benefits it delivers by supporting both local and national projects.
With over 40 organisations represented, it also offered a fantastic opportunity to see what innovation is taking place across the region.
An outstanding feature of the event was the “Innovation Carousel” where NHS National Innovation Accelerators (NIA) fellows and regional innovators were given five minutes to showcase their digital health solutions in rapid succession followed by panel discussion.
The event closed with a well-attended Awards Ceremony, with Leeds Teaching Hospitals winning the ‘Technology to improve efficiency’ category for their project ‘Taking on the interoperability challenge with PPM+’ – a new Electronic Health Record solution which will improve cost efficiency and transferability.
The NIHR Leeds MIC team held a stand at the conference. Dr Helen Radford (Director of Operations, NIHR Leeds MIC) said: “It was a great opportunity to network and talk to people about the support we can offer to accelerate the development and clinical deployment of commercial IVDs. We’re really grateful to the YAHSN for offering such an excellent opportunity – and for their support of NIHR Leeds MIC.”
