Dr Michael Messenger is responsible for overseeing the MICs operational management and scientific portfolio, delivering high quality scientific evidence on in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) for the NHS.

As the Principal Healthcare Scientist on a NIHR Applied Programme Grant for Research “Evaluating the benefits for patients and the NHS of new and existing biological fluid biomarkers in liver and renal disease” he has experience across many phases of the “diagnostic pipeline” including the development, validation and clinical evaluation of new biomarker/diagnostic assays.

As a standing member of the Diagnostics Advisory Committee, Michael provides advice to NICE on the formulation of guidance on diagnostic technologies and any other matter related to the evaluation of diagnostic technologies.
